About Armsmear
Armsmear is a historic independent living community for senior women of limited income located in Hartford, Connecticut, housed in the former Colt Mansion and surrounding campus. Founded in 1911 by philanthropist Elizabeth Hart Jarvis Colt, the community provides safe, comfortable housing with supportive amenities including chapel services, social programs, and 24-hour maintenance and security. The three-acre campus features 51 one-bedroom apartments within walking distance of Hartford Hospital, the Hartford Public Library, and the Wadsworth Atheneum.
